Older homes that were insulated on construction are most likely filled with mineral wool, a material which is heated and spun to create a fibre which was widely used in properties over 20 years old. Over time these fibres break down and settle creating voids within the cavity. This breakdown process results in cold spots and the inevitable inability to retain heat commences. In order to rectify the problem all existing material will need to be extraced before refilling the cavities with alternative insulating products such as our innovative bonded bead system.
